THE NEVER ENDING PATH….. My non stop journey as a Jivamukti Yoga Teacher
My whole life i searched for something that would keep me occupied for the rest of my life. I have a lot of knowledge under my belt so far, lived many different lives, i have had many different jobs, projects, events, journeys and dreams to call my own. BUT the knowledge that i gain continuously through my practice as a Jivamukti Yoga Teacher is so incredible. It is extremely highly valuable to me (and the students i teach) let me tell you why……
JIVAMUKTI YOGA FOCUS OF THE MONTH:
One of the biggest reasons to me personally why i develop, learn, grow and expand so much as a JY teacher is working with the Focus of the Month. Every month for the last 5 years i have build all my classes, playlists, workshops and lesson plans purely on the Focus. This is 5 years of knowledge i would otherwise not have gained and obtained if i wasn’t a JY Teacher, this already to me has such a huge value & impact on my life, especially on my life as an activist. Take this month for example, i knew about the siddhis (super natural powers described in the third chapter of the Patanjali Yoga Sutras) but not to the extend i know now. I have read so much, collected so much material, researched the matter so in depth & shared this in my classes. Which creates a ripple effect of knowledge as the students too share this knowledge and so on and so on. So far i have worked with 60 different Focuses and some Focuses have made me look up older focuses which i then also shared in class again. It really is crucial to mention how this study never ends. It does not end after Teacher Training, thats where it begins. As Sharon Gannon (co-founder Jivamukti Yoga) mentioned in Teacher Training: “you won’t have time for anything else” very powerful and very true. I continuously have my nose in books, or am researching online, i continuously want to learn more, know more, develop myself more in order to be a better teacher. It truly is magical and mind-blowing the education we receive as teachers. Not just once, but ever ongoing, by the founders of this method. By senior teachers of this method, by facilitators of this method. I am so grateful for this never ending part of learning. I bow down to my teachers who push, inspire and encourage me to never stop developing, to never stop learning everyday!
TEACHER TRAINING:
For those of you who are considering Jivamukti Yoga Teacher Training…. DO IT! There only is one method! Believe me, all i have learned, all i have gained and continuously learn and gain its all because of Jivamukti Yoga. On several occasions people have expressed that they find the Jivamukti Yoga Teacher Training program expensive. The thing is a lot of people do not realise how much is involved in these TT Programs, the amount of work, the amount of mentors, facilitators that are all involved, the manuals that are developed, created and written by the founders themselves (!) name one other method where you get to learn hands on from those who found the method….. and on top of that there is the accommodation, food and travel costs. It takes a LOT to create these programs and Jivamukti Yoga is known for being an integrated yoga method, so is the training. You learn it all! Sanskrit, Anatomy, Asana, Ancient Scriptures, several seminars on veganism and plant based living, its all there. The training is expensive yes but so is the program! And you sign up not for the month, but for life. I truly and highly recommend this training. This year i even get to cook for those who will attend the Germany TT Program and i just cannot wait to bring the love, joy & pure goodness this practice brings us all! www.jivamuktiyoga.com
